It works for some people, but for many others it doesn't. I tried the SpeechEasy and FluencyMaster (similar to the speecheasy, but the annoying buzzing is only when you speak). It works by basically trying to trick your brain. It does this by mimicking choral speech; basically when we talk in group or in unison with other people, we tend not to stutter. So the DAF (delayed auditory feedback) works by creating a short echo in your ear so that when you speak, you hear the echo and think you are speaking in chorus and bingo, you stop stuttering. What they don't tell you is this novelty (like most techniques) wears off once you get used to it and then you need to find something else to distract your speech. I would try to see the fitter and they should be able to change the delay in the device and then i'd probably only use it for when you really need fluency (interview, presentation, etc...). That way it might stay new enough during those times to still "trick" your brain into being more fluent.
