A friend of mine in high school had Tourette syndrome and he swore that swearing was the easiest way to get over a tic. I tried it and couldn't believe how easily swearing overrode my stutter. But we're from Jersey and profanity is our mother tongue anyway, so it was easy to get away with. :D
