Being a stutterer and having a child who stutters I’ve stuttered ever since I can remember, it’s mild/moderate, definitely has improved since childhood. Now I have a daughter and she is 4, I noticed a slight stutter a few weeks ago and it’s just gotten worse. It’s mainly at the beginning of her sentences. She’s already severely shy and doesn’t talk to her teachers or really anybody she doesn’t see on a regular basis. I just feel devastated that she has this to go through as well. Obviously I’m going to seek help and work with her school for both the stutter and her social issues, but I’m sad that she has to go through this but I’m determined to actually help unlike my parents who just pretended my stutter wasn’t there.
