I don't have a mild-stutter. My whole childhood was spent in speech therapy, one of whom said I was essentially a lost cause and actually suggested I learn sign language. Every single horror story of taunting, abuse and bullying and being ignored and discriminate against happened to me, over and over and over again. It still happens to me now. I just learned some techniques that helped me mask my stutter to a point where I could build my confidence and progress. That's all. Not rocket science. And every other successful stutterer I know has done similar. 'Giving up' before you even give life a shot is a complete waste.
