Suggestions for choral activity We are very lucky to have a supportive teacher. My son has been doing oral presentations in class and so far he feels really good about communicating successfully. When it’s just him, he can stutter his way through at his own pace. He has to be part of a group response activity tomorrow and we’re practicing today. He’s in elementary school, so not totally self aware. We’re on the cusp of that, which is why desensitization and frequent oral presentations are par for the course. What happens if the group speech goes faster than he can? I don’t want him to feel silenced and I can totally see this kid yelling his lines even if his group finishes and the other group starts. I can also see him being really upset if he’s not allowed to finish. How can we set him up for success? I can talk to the teacher beforehand and come up with a plan. But you guys are my experts.
