You are stuttering with a purpose. Your goal is to desensitize your stuttering so that you decrease your fear of talking. I am a speech pathologist who has years of experience working with stutterers. I have tried many different strategies and techniques which I found was not effective in reducing my stutter. If you get a chance try researching one of the fathers of stuttering therapy who is Charles Van Riper. I found so many stutterers are not able to breathe for speech. Their brains are wired differently whereby their brain tells the vocal cords to close intermittently during speaking which I strongly believe is the root cause of stuttering. I did not want to stutter with a purpose. What I did was to rewire my brain to match the brain of a fluent speaker. I have never had a relapse.
