I apologize in advance for this post, as I'm probably in what might be described as a 'negative' mood :P I've fought with seeing stuttering in a positive light. Yes, it makes me a much more empathetic person. I'm much 'nicer' of a person. I'm patient with others. But what I don't/won't like about this premise is that it ignores the fact that stuttering is more than anything a hangman (Black Swan Green), a jerk. I understand you're not a fan of negativity. But I just imagine a non-stutterer telling a couple stutterers that are talking about the repercussions of their stutters: "Guys, I'm not really a fan of negativity. Can we talk about something else?" See what I mean, such a mindset silences some truths. Anyways, you likely have been exposed to enough of the negativity of stuttering and are well aware of it and just wanted to spark some positivity out of all the gloom. I guess we might as well see some positives. As you can tell by now, this post was largely a progression of my train of thought :P.
