New to Reddit - Job Interviewing Tips? SOS! As many fellow stuttering folks might agree, job interviews are the worst, truly (for me, it's the in-person ones). At least you don't have to introduce yourself as much.. (phew! - they should know your name) I had one a few months ago and it went **SO** poorly. I could barley get a word out. Perhaps it was the scenery - walking into a white room with a large table and four women across from me, ready to ask 3 questions each. I thought I was prepared, but once the first question was asked, I was a wreck. (Side note - it took me 3 weeks to recover from the emotional trauma and I was back to applying to more positions!) Just a few weeks before that, I had another interview where I was so calm, felt confident in my words and was even offered a job - funny how things work... Any who, just today, I had another interview; however, i took an anti-anxiety pill to help calm my nerves. I believe the nerves were calmed, but i still stuttered and since I heard myself doing this, I wasn't as confident in my words or what I was saying to the panel. I guess the part that irks me the most about this situation is that I don't feel I portrayed myself in the best capacity because the nerves and stuttering got the best of me - that's what is the most disappointing. I just gotta keep telling myself, "the more you do these interviews, the easier it gets.." right...? What are some of your helpful tips while interviewing in person?
