I am a speech-language pathologist as well as a person who stutters: At home, let your child speak freely. Embrace all those beautiful stutters, listen to her, don't interrupt, tell her to use her strategies, etc. Your job is to be a parent and love her for who she is. You want to avoid any kind of shame, fear, and negative self-esteem that can develop due to stuttering. If the speech therapist gives you homework, dedicate a certain time where your child practices whatever the speech therapist gives you. Advocate for her at school, and be her biggest cheerleaders. There are also several support groups you can get involved in.
