If I think back over my 35 year career, I’ve had some of the worst job interview experiences because of my stutter, yet, I was offered the jobs. The logical side of me believes I was hired because of my experience outlined in my resume, but I can’t help but think that the spiritual side of me believes I was “getting help from above”. Divine intervention perhaps? Who knows! Who hires a person based on only claims written on their resume? I’m not a hardcore practicing Christian by any means. I rarely go to church, but my personal conversations with God always have been focused on giving me the courage and strength to face life’s challenges despite my stutter, and opening the right doors for me if it’s the right one. It hasn’t failed me yet despite really really struggling in job interviews.
