I think it makes perfect sense and it happens to me as well. It's well known that parents are their kids' biggest trigger, whether you feel it or not, your nervous system reacts to them being around. Now I'm not in any way saying that yours are bad parents or anything like that, my dad is the best and he still triggers the shit out of me, it's human nature to be triggered by your parents. That's something you can work on, give a lot of time and effort, or, do what I did and don't try to fix something that already won't last. When you move out you'll be shocked by the dynamic shift that will happen between you and your parents. Spoiler alert: You won't stutter with your dad anymore. I say work on your triggers, not the impediment.
