1. Talk to an SLP online, preferably one who specializes in stuttering or who has a stutter. Invest in your time with them but also monitor how/if it helps you. No shame in finding a new SLP of there is a personality clash or they’re pushing things that don’t work for you. 2. Try everything. No guarantees that anything will help you or how much. The only guarantee is that nothing ventured, nothing gained 3. Work on finding peace with stuttering. This is active work, and it takes time. If your SLP cannot tackle that with you, try a therapist (also online if your choices in town are limited) 4. Find your people. If you are a compassionate person who can make room for other people, know the world is full of others who will make room for you. They may or may not be where you live now.
