The other guy gave great advice, I'll expand on his third point. First off, he's right, most of us on here will likely stutter, at least to some extent, for the rest of our lives. That leaves us with two options: acceptance or resignation. If we resign ourselves to stuttering, then it's defeated us. It means we'll avoid talking out of fear or embarrassment. It means we'll avoid certain sounds. It means we'll avoid life altogether. This is obviously not what we want. Acceptance is something else in my mind. Acceptance requires a mindset that every day will be a struggle, but that's OK. We live and we talk and if we screw up, that's OK too, it just means we have to try again. Most importantly, it requires knowing in your heart that YOU HAVE SOMETHING TO SAY, AND IT'S WORTH LISTENING TO. Anyone who thinks less of your opinion simply because it takes longer to say isn't worth your time, because apparently you aren't worth their's. Fuck that. So yeah, keep working at it, never stop. Read out loud, do speech therapy, learn techniques that work for you. If you screw up, acknowledge it and move on. Try again next time. Everyone has their burdens in life, and this is ours, but it shouldn't be an excuse to not live. Good luck, and keep fighting.
