I agree to that, I think this is why many stutterers think they would've been unstoppable without a stutter like, "without it I'd be the president", because even with this issue we can survive in society and many even thrive so imagine if we were fluent, we feel that we could've achieved way more. Stuttering builds perseverance and resiliency, it trains us to accept awkward situations, daily shame, mockery and be strong despite everything, so a person who manages to harness the gains of living with a stutter and charge ahead despite everything is a stronger person than most people imagine. These days I like learning about stutterers who succeeded despite the obvious personal and social setbacks of a stutter and I can't help but be amazed, especially Van Riper, he's currently my hero, he went through a phase where he pretended to be mute to work as a handyman although he had a university degree then he went like Fuck it, and decided that he would just stutter, now he's one of the people that made great advancements in the field of stuttering although he retained a noticeable stutter even till the end of his life, I aspire to be like him but my experiences only allow me to see how strong of a person he was.
