See his was much much more sudden even than that. He went from having no disfluency to having a severe stutter overnight. It got worse over about 10 days ending up in a crazy 48 hour episode where he could barely speak. Then it got better all of a sudden but was still present, just much more mild. And now it's very very severe again for the last 3 days to where he can barely talk but nobody can pinpoint a pattern except for possibly PANDAS. Your son sounds amazing! I know my kiddo will be just fine even if he deals with the stutter for the rest of his life but I'm just so worried about the sudden onset and severity that there may be something in his brain causing it. Unfortunately we're just in limbo until his neurologist appointment in September. I think once I know his brain is okay I'll be able to relax a little. It just breaks my heart to see him struggle so hard to speak. Thanks for the advice! and thanks so much for giving me both sides of the story from someone who deals with a stutter and has raised a kid with one.
