I used to stutter a lot more (learned to manage it over the last 10 years or so). I don't usually bring it up unless I get stuck on a word. Usually people say they never noticed before, and some say that it's not that bad. I know that they are in no way trying to make me uncomfortable or be negative. They probably just don't know what to say, so are letting you know that it's ok. Keep in mind that as stutterers, we're always self-monitoring and therefore will notice every little slip. So, it *will* seem worse to us than it does to those around us.
