Stating my name on demand was always the hardest for me! I work closely with somebody with the exact same name, and I found it ridiculous that I could say his name on demand at work, yet if somebody asked me for my own name, I would block on it hard. I believe it is because your name, typically, is the one thing you think everybody expects you to know. Pausing before it or or blocking on it makes you think the person you are speaking to is going to think something is wrong with you. I guess it is one of the more common things for people to stutter on. I've now learned how to glide out of my name and it has been a few months since I've had any hard blocks on it. After 20+ years of stuttering on it and dreading it, of course there is some residual anxiety. I've been putting myself into more and more situations where I know I will have to say my name on demand, and I figure each time I don't have a hard block on it I'm removing a rock from the wall I've put up around it in my head. To be fair, my name does not start with a sound I typically stutter on, so maybe that helps with it.
