I’m a life long stutterer. Earlier this year my son began stuttering and whenever he did I would stop him, teach him to take a breath and speak slowly. When I see he’s still stuttering I would simply say “your speech is bumpy, try that again” In 4 weeks he stopped stuttering. I wish someone did it for me when I was young- while my brain is doing most of its developing My daughter on the other hand looks and behaves exactly like me and does not stutter… don’t stress out about what could happen in the future. I inherited the stutter from my father and he did from his. My 2 older brothers don’t stutter, I do (Only daughter). If your child does end up stuttering it’s easier to correct while they are young as they are developing speech patterns. Also, stutterers are amazing people ;)
