From my experience, no employer has written me off or anyone else I know because they stutter. If you're communication skills are poor then sure, but I know many fluent people with crappy communication skills and they crap out too. So what's the risk? You're probably already going to stutter when you talk on the phone. So you can either address it and carry on, or just try to be fluent and probably stutter more and make things pretty confusing. If you've never disclosed before, I would practice. My usually thing is I would find some time near the start of the interview where appropriate and advertise. It could be something like, "Before we start, I just want to let you know that I have a stutter, so if you have any questions or need me to repeat anything, please just ask." You can put it into your own words or however you like. You know what the interviewer will say? "oh, ok." and then continue with the interview since thats all she really cares about. That's how they've all gone for me when I felt I needed to disclose. It'll cut the confusion and hopefully put you at more ease. Good luck. practice some of the questions you know you'll be asked.
