Please help me When I was younger, I stuttered pretty bad. I'm 18 now, and it has gone away, except for when I read aloud in front of people. It's like I can't get the words out. I'm in high school and in every English class I've had, the teacher will make each student read a paragraph aloud when we are reading a story. When I hear the words "okay class were going to go around the room and everyone read a paragraph", my stomach completly drops. I get so scared and nervous just to read a paragraph. It gets to the point that I'm nervously sweating just waiting to read. When it's my turn, I try to say the words, and I just can't get them out. But when I do manage to get them out, I start talking and forget to breathe, and end up sounding like I'm about to cry when reading. It's just like there's a mental block that won't let me read fine. I'm very self conscious about it, especially because you'd never think I would do it, because I can talk to people just fine.
