Not sure about the USMC; being USAF, I'm about as far from combat arms as it gets. Officer's are expected to be able to communicate clearly, I imagine especially in combat arms. It wouldn't do to get into a firefight and stumble over your orders. That being said, as I mentioned, I'm no expert there. I stuttered meeting my recruiter, but YMMV.
