Almost everyone in Australia will just do lidcombe with him. That's the only thing authorized for insurance I believe. If he says he doesn't care about his stutter and you see it really doesn't stop him from speaking or expressing himself, that's the #1, 2, and 3 most important things. I would continue reinforcing to him that stuttering is a-ok and it's just a difference he has and there's nothing wrong with it. If you're worried about other kids teasing him, you could talk about learn more stuttering and maybe if anyone brings or up or asks, he could educate them. Most kids more curious than mean and even if they insensitively ask like, "why do you talk like that?!", he could explain why and educate them. Could be a good way for him to build up his self esteem and develop good self advocacy.
