My apprentice has a stutter, how do I help them feel more comfortable and/or improve our communication?

My apprentice has a stutter, how do I help them feel more comfortable and/or improve our communication? I need some pointers, I'm socially inept to begin with so it probably makes things a bit harder but I want them to succeed or find out sooner rather than later that this trade isn't what they want to do. At the time of posting this I haven't even brought up their stutter, should I?
