How would YOU like to be treated?

How would YOU like to be treated? I have a stutter when introducing myself in front of large groups. However, that's not the reason that I'm making this post. Browsing through this subreddit, I remembered meeting someone once with a very bad stutter/stammer. I don't remember how I acted. I would like to ask you: how do you like others to behave when you stutter/stammer? Do you like them to look empathetic or normal? Do you like them to completely ignore your stutter/stammer or maybe encourage you through the sentence? I ask because I don't remember how I behaved the few times I interacted with that person, but if I do again, I would like to be more conscious of my reactions. Thank you!
