I have noticed (and wonder if others have noticed as well), that when I speak any language with a contrived accent I don't stutter much at all. For example if I, as an American, speak English with a "British" accent, I don't stutter at all. If I wouldn't sound like a pretentious cock-bird, I'd conduct all of my telephone calls in "British" English.
