Yea voluntary stuttering can help with feelings of shame because you are intentionally blocking and "ruining" the flow of the conversation. And it's okay because it doesn't have that same feeling of randomly losing control over your speech. I will admit though that starting to intentionally block on words can feel strange, especially if you are emotionally invested in the conversation. It takes some time to get used to.
