Basically my line of argumentation is that if there is no anatomical disruption in the musculature or nerve endings in the jaw. Thus, stuttering is nothing but a maladaption or a subconscious behavior. My best bet why it's so is that during speech function development early on, a close loop between stress reaction and stuttering just got reinforced. It happens. Alot of maladaptive behaviors such as stuttering takes place in early child hood. Add to that years of humiliation and fear while speaking and its obvious why we find ourselves dreeding public speaking or any speaking. But I think the simple response can be repeated exposure therapy under safe and supportive conditions to losen neuron connections related to stuttering and strengthened new circuits for fluency by repeatedly making adjustments till someone's learnt behavior in speech becomes automatic. If u want to u can sign up for the group and show up religiously. It will definitely help. Since I don't believe it's an disease, I won't use the word cure.
