Just got this yesterday and am almost halfway done. It’s great. My husband and I had happened to hear an NPR interview with the author a few years ago, and it was actually kind of emotional for him (my husband) because he’d never heard anyone talk publicly like that about stuttering, much less someone who sounded anything like he does. I’m going to give the book to my mom after I finish. She’s great and she loves my husband but she doesn’t seem to really get stuttering. The story his ex-girlfriend tells about her mom meeting him and her being so annoyed bc her mom like hammered him with questions and then answered them for him is so close to how my mom was when she first met my husband, and I was equally annoyed. I think the book would really help her to understand.
