Yes! and do you ever get the people who sarcastically say "you're welcome?" that drives me up the wall. If it's just someone holding a door or something, I've come to terms with looking rude. But for retail workers etc, a smile and a nod usually suffices or switching it out for 'ta', 'cheers' or something similar.
