Stuttering related to hormones?

Stuttering related to hormones? I work at my university's call center (we ask for donations) and I am usually fine, but occasionally I start stuttering really bad. Today it happened and I was mortified. My supervisor noticed and I got really embarrassed and kind of went "I don't know why this happens! PMS! But it's not PMS! I don't know!!!" I don't even know if I should've said that and ugh, I don't know. My stuttering comes and goes and it's mild, but it can get pretty bad and I often can't really start sentences properly and just remain quiet. I first started noticing it around puberty and now it happens right before my period. Right now it's not before my period, but near the end of my shift at work I could not speak at all. The person at the other end even said "I'm sorry I think the connection is bad because you keep going quiet randomly." And of course, I get nervous and it makes it worse. I've never really had to deal with it and I usually just wait it out, but now it's interfering with my job...I don't really know what to do. Anyone else have stuttering related to hormonal fluctuations? Or even just random stuttering that persists for a few days and then goes away? Don't really know what to do...
