Discharged from speech therapy! I lurk this subreddit sometimes but I wanted to let y'all know that after 6 months of speech therapy, I got discharged. That doesn't mean I'm totally set, I still have fluency problems, especially in certain situations or speaking another language, but I've made so much progress. I can now go entire days where I stutter maybe once or twice tops. The trick that really pushed me through was podcasts. Every day while driving to and from work, I listen to a podcast where they're talking (as opposed to reading directly from a script), such as Radiolab or Reply All, and repeat what they say immediately as they're saying it. It was a great way for me to gain the muscle memory to speak more slowly and clearly without stuttering.
