I’m 28 and I’ve stuttered my whole life. I work for Oracle as a salesperson and I’ve worked there for almost 6.5 years, since I graduated college. At first my stutter held me back a lot and I would be afraid to make cold calls. Now, it doesn’t hold me back. I’ve learned that my stutter makes me different from the 1000s of other sales reps and actually makes me more relatable and likable. I tell my customers I have a stutter which makes it easier on me, and them. I’ve been promoted 3 times and I really enjoy sales. It’s fun to build relationships and close big deals. I encourage you to go for it. DM me if you ever want to chat more privately.
