It's not easy. It's damn hard. I actively practice stopping negative thought cycles. When I recognize myself dwelling on something, as I used to do with my speech, I tell myself "enough." I consider what's on my mind. What is there to be gained from further time spent on it? And if it's just negativity, I'm done. It takes practice to set these things down and move forward. I promise you, that with practice, it gets easier.
