>For me personally, the techniques I learned in order to speak fluently took away a part of my personality. I was not able to speak naturally so eventually I stopped practicing the techniques. Also, I found that the HCRI method did not translate into high pressure situations for me. Yeah, I've read this from other people too. This is purely anecdotal, but my feeling is the McGuire Program has a higher success rate. Different technique and a somewhat different attitude. Just seems more supportive, more realistic? Tho some have called them a little....what's the word? Clubby? Not in an exclusive way, but like "now you're in the McGuire club." But, eh, that works for some people. They use costal breathing; it seems more....possible. Also, they are non-profit. That doesn't mean they are cheap for the original course. But follow up stuff is mostly free. And if you have to do a refresher course, it's free or almost free.
