Stuttering in the Media What are your thoughts on stuttering in the media? All these celebrities who say they stutter, don't stutter openly. How is this good for the stuttering community? Sure the "King's Speech" has spread awareness for people who stutter. But, most people think that stuttering consists of repetitions only. There are different types of stuttering. I am a covert PWS, and when I do tell them I stutter, they say that I don't, which is invalidating to me. They see all these celebrities who "stutter" and think, "If they cured their stuttering, why can't you?" A show that I really like is "Rick and Morty". They stutter throughout the show, and it is not addressed at all. I think we need more shows like this. Stuttering is just something that we do.
