Plan out your main convo, and it'll be easier. I used to have a 'go-to' list of first date questions and convo. Ex: What 3 superpowers would you choose, which animal ability would you want most? Be charming about it and you can ask almost any question, just go with y'all's interests. That forethought always helped me out a lot.
