Screaming I just wanted to come here as a person who grew up with a stutter for as long as they can remember, I am 26. Recently the person I assumed would be my partner for life left me and it came with a lot of falling back into old speech habits and a lot of anxiety. I used to take a lot of therapy, and don’t let this deter you from seeking that help if you are feeling as though you need it; it can provide you with such a good set of tools to help your fluency and speech for the rest of your life. However, i came here to share I have been teaching myself how to scream/vocalize in the styles of metal musicians recently. It requires a very precise self understanding of your own speaking functions and requires many similar exercises we see in speech therapy (assuming you don’t want to destroy your voice), but for me it’s been a lot more engaging and also relieving at the same time. Could be a good fit for some people here! It might be helping me more than therapy ever did because my speech has been better than ever. -Diaphragmatic breathing -Projection -Vocal chord/airway manipulation -Practicing sound repetition coming from throat all the way from front to back of mouth and using tongue for new sounds It’s all there! Just came to share Have a great day everyone!
