I'm new here and I wanted to know if anyone shared the same problem I'm having. Hi everyone, So, I grew up with a stutter but I would say it was very mild compared to some of the other people's stutters. Through speech therapy and my own practice (reading books out loud), I have been able to lessen my stuttering. My problem now is that when I'm talking, I have the sense of the word I'm going to say but for some reason, I can't remember the word. My mind just blanks out and I'm stuck there with awkward silence, trying to desperately think about the word. If by a second or two, I can't think of the word, I try to find a similar word or just describe the word I want to say. Even when I do think of the word, it takes a lot of effort to pull it out of my mouth. Does anyone else experience this or have any tips for me? Thanks!
