Any tips to help my 8 yr old daughter? I have an 8 yr old daughter who stutters. She has been in therapy off and on since 4 yr old. This past year it has gotten worse. She is currently in therapy where they are working on slow speech, pausing instead of repeating word over and over. We are working with her at home also. One suggestion from a therapist was to have us stutter when we are talking to her...so she can hear/see what it looks like, never in a way to make fun or shame her. I've done this a couple of times and when she speaks afterwards it's perfect. She loves to make videos with her toys and role play...when doing this there is no stuttering. When I try to talk to her about stuttering she says it doesn't bother her, but I have a feeling that it does to some degree. Do you all have suggestions that we could try with her or things that helped you all?
