I totally relate to this. Sometimes I just can’t do eye contact out of embarrassment. But the good thing is that you don’t have to do it all the time, you can look at the person, then look away naturally, then back again, try to smile also, etc. As long as you make yourself and your listener feel comfortable and acknowledged it’s all good, they will understand. However, if you can try and do eye contact regardless of everything, you’ll rock!
