Definitely great advice to be open with a stutter, I'm gonna do that with my new job if I ever stutter - thanks for the link! I brought it up in the interview, so head management know already. The impact of our surroundings is definitely a big factor in stuttering, I think. I tend not to stutter much when I'm out drinking or at parties, either; stuttering is at it's worst in official settings, important moments, ordering food, etc. I feel like a major issue with a lot of us is we catastrophise bad stutter moments, 9/10 people tend not to care. It's worse when I think about what I'm saying, if that makes sense. If I stay in the moment and just not think too much, I almost never stutter. If it's rehearsed in my head - which happens in those "group" moments - it's 10x worse.
