Definitely. It's pretty sad actually. One of the worst parts of that is well-intentioned people can be so so misguided about stuttering. Talked to a college advisor about stuttering and she, having a brother who stutters, obviously knows all about it. I try to explain things to her and others, but time and time again I get "it's barely noticeable! you're just giving yourself a hard time." It's sad. To be fair, they can never fully understand, and many times they just want to make us feel better. But that doesn't take away the hurt, especially of a young or inexperienced stutterer.
