I think the real misinformation is the outdated current information. Experts say that it can't be stopped, but what about the so called 75–80% of children who stutter and naturally grow out of it? If it can't be stopped, then how did those children outgrow it? Also why can I speak perfectly fine alone or to my close friends and family but every time I face a high pressure conversation, I tense a bit. It's like we have some bad software glitch that needs to be rebooted or updated. I know this is a neurological issue and surely theres a neuroscience method based stuttering program that can solve this issue. I think the problem is the so called experts who work in the speech therapy field, never had the problem so they don't know how to tackle the problem head on. SLP's are noble, they try to help their clients like mine did for years, but it's like you have to go through a break up to give relationship advice to others. You can not ever be in a relationship and give relationship advice to others when you never experienced it first hand, you know what I mean. More importantly, let me see what has helped others and let me do my own due diligence before I come up with my own conclusions. I'm not buying this whole acceptance thing because why accept something that I don't do all the time? I truly believe it's a software glitch that needs reprogramming.
