Maybe I'm wrong, yes, but I stand behind my words. I still think those are the results of ignorance, before anything else. I obviously never met OP's friends, I don't know how old they are, how does that mocking exactly looks like, as much as I know they could be the best and the worst people on Earth - I don't know. I'm speaking from my own experience only. I just wanted to point out that unfriending those people don't necessarily have to be the way to solve the problem.
