I used to try to prepare the entire script of what I would say, but that doesn’t work well (or it needs 10x more practice than normal) What works for me is to have the outline of what I want to say. Presentation are perfect because I can even put the key points on the slide. The I rehearse a couple of different ways to say the exact same key point. If I block on a word I just have to substitute it. So if I practice different ways I am more confident that I can express it another way. Also it’s okay even if you don’t find a way to express one of the points but it remains of the slide - no worries you can express 7/10 of the key points and it will still be a good presentation. Also, don’t threat this as THE presentation of your life - it’s not. There are going to be a lot more, and they will become progressively more important. So just think of it as the next practice. A month ago I gave a presentation in front of the entire company - 200+ people online. I didn’t prepare scripts to read, but was just speaking my mind and was aware that if I blocked I can use a different sentence. But I was confident that I can do it because I prepared really well what I wanted to say beforehand.
