Reading so many of these phone-related posts makes me so glad that I really am not afraid of the phone! What helps me, i think, is the fact that the other person can't see you, so you have so many ways of hiding your stutter. Obviously, the "best" thing to do wold probably be to tell the person upfront that you stutter, but as we all know, that's easier said than done :) Anyways, when you're talking on the phone, you're allowed to have as many physical twitches as you want - no judgements or weird stares. What I really think helps me the most, though, is STANDING UP AND MOVING AROUND while speaking on the phone. Man, it just feels like it gives you so much freedom in the claustrophobic realm of telephoning. When you feel a block or whatever coming on, you can take a few steps or adjust your stance so that you will get over the stutter... This really helps me!
