I might get a bit miffed but I take far greater offence at how governments and corporations screw people and the planet for their own gain than from someone's casual ill-considered comment. Even if someone does get offended, so what? Life isn't all sweetness and love. People need to deal with things they don't like. That's not a reason not to set boundaries, of course. But a comment like that is nothing to get into a tiz about.
