If your parents have health insurance, therapy may be covered. If you’re on Medicaid, therapy may be covered. Does your school have a speech therapist? If not, speak to the school nurse or counselor who may have ideas to help you get therapy asap. Do you live near a university with a speech/language department? They may offer free options. While I know that speech therapy is a great option, there are many other options that can help you online or with an app on a cell phone. There are many options available to you. Think outside the box and explore the internet. There are also teen groups (online and in person) sponsored by the NSA — National Stuttering Association—that are really great.
