Making friends is something I need to learn how to do. Up until recently, I've always been able to make friends through existing friends or a school environment where meeting people is easy. Now, I need to actively seek out friends, which is not something I'm skilled at doing. I'm fine socializing with people I already know, but meeting new people is a really unpleasant thing for me, so I've generally tended to avoid it. I probably just need to attend some meetups and expect to have a horrible time, but I need to get practice and build up social skills and social confidence. Should I just jump into it like that? Should I start out with a social anxiety group or something like that?
