There's a very simple solution for this. When somebody starts acting like a dick or starts laughing, just stop what you're saying mid-sentence and burn right through them with your eyes. Some people will just keep right on at it, which makes them easily identifiable as dicks. But it turns the tables nicely on anybody with a conscience. They'll get super embarrassed and be really nice to you after that.
